C you're going to be very disappointed in me, but I bought 500g of those delicious shortbread biscuits (like little gingerbread men) from Mugg 'n Bean today!!

Okay, I think I am going to do a whole lot for Mothers Day. We are hosting the afternoon tea this year and it is my Gran's birthday too so we have a double celebration.

Nope. Didn't get around to it, and now he's back at school again. Maybe on a weekend. Will let you know.Re: Basic Biscuit Recipe
The best part about this recipe is that you can freeze the dough and have freshly baked cookies when the guests arrive!

Re: Basic Biscuit Recipe
You must have read my mind! I've been looking for a really easy recipe for biscuits for a while now. Definately going to give it a try with L before the holidays are over.

Basic Biscuit Recipe
Hi All
J insisted tht we bake cookies yesterday so I did the Mommy thing in the kitchen and let J and K help with the cutting . . . phew glad that is over.
Here is the recipe we used:
1Kg Cake Flour
500gr Sugar
500gr Margarine/butter
2Tbsp Baking powder
2tsp salt
5 eggs
10ml vanilla (optional)
Method:
Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy
Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition
Sift dry ingredients and fold into egg mixture
Roll dough to 5mm thickness and cut
Bake at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes (until golden brown)
Add things like spice, nuts, chocolate chips for something different.
